I'm trying to figure out ways to make a little extra cash, so I'm offering up some collages based on various fandoms, like the Heroes and Jack Sparrow collages below.

Size is usually the determining factor in price. For uncommon Fandoms, a small fee may be charged for printing certain imagery, or for purchasing a speciality magazine. "Uncommon Fandoms" can be considered those that can't be found in magazines such as Entertainment Weekly. "Speciality magazines" are those devoted to the subject, such as the Buffy fan magazines, that I may not already own.
Prices generally start at $25.

Michael and I tend to cook quite a bit. It's usually fairly simple, and mostly on the fly. Recipes aren't all that common, though we will sometimes take suggestions from the recipes at Publix. Here's one of my favorites.
One thing you should know: nothing is exact. More often than not, the ingredients we use aren't the freshest, best quality (such as frozen chicken or cheap spices), and we don't have exact measurements for anything. I tend to make things that taste good instead of things that are exactly perfect.

So I like to randomly train Pete, meaning every now and then, I'll have him Sit, then Stay, and see how long he'll do it for. Obviously, he always gets a treat. The treats I have right now are made to fit inside a Kong toy (the greatest dog toy ever!). Fairly decent size. They come in a little box with a flap to keep it closed.
Anyway, one of the commands Pete knows is "Bedtime!", and he'll go to the bedroom and wait for me to finish locking up before he gets in bed. Last night, I told him Bedtime, then when he went into the room, I had him Sit, Stay. Since he's getting better about Staying, I left the door open and kept calling him to stay while I left the room to go get him a treat.
I go into the kitchen, open up the cabinet that houses the dog stuff (to the right of the dishwasher, I keep his food in a tub, his treats, and some bitter apple spray), open the flap of the treat box and reach inside. Then I feel something weird and fluttering in my hand. So I pull it out.
THERE WAS A ROACH IN MY HAND. THE BIGGEST, BLACKEST, WINGED ROACH YOU'VE EVER SEEN. IN MY HAND.
I hurl it to the ground, scream bloody murder (twice. I'm kind of disappointed in my neighbors that didn't bother checking on me to see if I wasn't, you know, actually being murdered), and flipped out because I have a problem killing them. Plus, it had BEEN IN MY HAND. I immediately wanted to bleach it and cut off the offending appendage. But anyway, Pete comes running in and just looks at me while this roach is fluttering around on the ground. Then I look away for a couple seconds to run my hand under scalding water.
It disappeared.
There are a bunch of cracks around the dishwasher (wasn't in there) and cabinet, so I can only assume that's where it went. That, or Pete ate it. Unlikely, cause I would have noticed and then immediately given him a bath and some Pepto Bismol or something. As I have no roach spray, I did the best I could with the bitter apple and some carpet spray. After I burst into tears, of course. And then proceeded to wash my hands about a dozen times.
I can still feel it fluttering. Ugh.

I can't believe it's March already. This year is going by really quick!
So... time for an update!
1. The new job is going really well, and I'm loving it so far. This is despite the fact that I have had to do a lot of work at home, which I'm perfectly willing to do. Odd, eh?
2. Michael! <3 Valentine's Day was pretty much perfect. Alas, he had to study for a test on Friday, so he couldn't make it. Scott and Mom were on their way over so we could go out to dinner, however, and Michael showed up! Turned out that his test had been Monday, so he brought some champagne, and some food for dinner, and the works! Unfortunately, Scott and Mom were still on their way over, so we all went out to dinner, and then I kicked them out so we could watch LOST. He made me dinner the next night... not to mention that he got me these AMAZING chocolate covered strawberries. I think we spent all weekend eating those. :)
3. Speaking of work, I've decided to take up freelancing. I may also set up a website with web templates. Make some extra cash.
4. More Michael! <3
5. LOST! How I've missed the show, and how thrilled I am that they'll be making more now that the strike is over. So far, I've been happy with this season (okay, so Kate's episode was boring, but the end was mega-awesome). I haven't seen last night's yet, though, so don't tell me.
6. Went to Cari's wedding this past Saturday, which was lovely. It was also great to see Ashley, who I haven't seen in a long time. I can't believe we've been out of high school almost 8 years now. Feels like it hasn't been that long.
7. Adam and I have sorta started talking again. I guess I never posted about it, but he didn't speak to me for three months cause I told him I felt like he didn't care a thing about me, just about what I could do for him. But he came to Zombies last month, and we've been talking a bit since. Not much, and I don't think we'll ever really get back to where we were, but I guess it's a start. He never did apologize for the things he said, though, and while I'd like him to acknowledge that he was wrong, most of me is just tired of it.
8. Michael!
9. My brother finally got a job. Hooray! Maybe this means he'll get out of the basement more and away from Final Fantasy.
10. Pete is doing well. He's finally learned Sit, and now I've got it so he won't jump on me (though we're still working on strangers, he's better about Michael). His best new trick is the singing, though. If I start to howl, he'll plop himself down on the ground next to me and let off these sad, sad howls as well. He also does it if Michael plays the recorder, though before singing he'll flip out and run around the apartment. It's really hilarious.
11. SMAAAAAAAAASH comes out on Sunday. CAN'T WAIT.

I go to bed and all hell breaks loose in the gossip world. BRITNEY! Why do you do crazy things so late at night?! I had to find out when my new boss called us all in for a meeting... to tell us what happened!
That's it. I'm never sleeping again.
In other news, I have a new apartment.

I've spent the past week playing a lot of Sims 2. I've got a whole neighborhood filled to the brim with Harry Potter characters (and the family made up of parents Elrond and Galadriel, with teens Legolas and Arwen. Legolas is dating Luna Lovegood.), but my favorite house to play is the Snape house.
See, Snape married Lily, who moved into the Snape house with young son Harry. Snape's a complete grouch, with no nice points in the least. He's completely serious, too, with no playful points. So why on earth would Snape be one of my more interesting Sims?

( Let's find out! )

Man, I've been slacking on these here Livejournal updates. Sure, I comment daily (hourly?) on OhNoTheyDidn't, but just haven't felt the need to blog. Anywho on to the updates!
1. I'm OBSESSED with the new Dark Knight trailer. So much so, in fact, that I spent a couple hours today creating a new layout for my Journal. Yeah, obsessed is a good word.
2. I got a new job. I know, I know, I just got one a few months ago, but I haven't really been happy here. I've really been missing print-work, so I'm going back into the print world, working on another magazine (Avid, I think it's called. It's a golf lifestyle magazine), but I'll also be doing web and other print stuff. Very nice.
3. Yep, still with Michael. Very happy. For Christmas, in addition to the traditional Bath and Body Works set (I love bubble baths), he got me the softest robe ever from Victoria's Secret. I mentioned months ago that I needed a new one cause mine is falling apart, so I'm impressed that he remembered. I've never owned anything from there, so it feels all luxurious and stuff. Plus, did I mention how soft and fluffy and warm it is? :D
4. Because of the new job, I'll be moving out of my mom's. Hooray! I'm most likely going back over to the Peachtree-Dunwoody area, cause the new job is up 400 again.
5. Another Zombie night! It'll be the 19th of January at my new place, so comment if you want me to send you the Evite.

So, haven't updated in a while. It's funny; I used to update every day, but can't remember to update now. Even though I'm ON LJ more these days, mainly cause of ONTD, which is like crack.
Anyway, in the time that I've been update-free, here's what's been happening:
1. Dragon*Con was mostly a mess this year. A lot of the space was non-existent in the Marriott due to construction, but the Hilton was deserted at nights. I'm hoping that with better space management next year, things will be better. The best parts, though, were meeting Michael's friends and playing Are You a Werewolf (and Reaver, earlier in the evening) with complete strangers. LOVE that game.
2. So as I love it so much, I made my own version called Zombies All Up Ins (thanks to Michael for the name). If you'd like to play, it's being premiered on November 3rd (a Saturday), though the location is TBD. LeeAnn has offered up her place, though, if we can't find somewhere more central. :) Comment or something with your email address, and I'll add you to the EVITE. And feel free to bring a friend or two, cause the more the merrier, and the version I made can support 20 or more comfortably (though it'll be long games, there's more 'special' cards than regular Werewolf games, plus variations for killed players to still participate).
3. Speaking of Michael, yep. Still dating. Over a year now, yay us! <3
4. Dumbledore is gay (and we should have known)!
5. Peter Petrelli is a woman!
6. There is no number 6.
7. The mere mention of Britney Spears is enough to send me into a violent rage. Though Adam had a good idea that I should be Crazy!Bald!Britney and Michael should be Chris Crocker for Halloween, and he'd run around all night whenever someone got near me and start crying. Leave Britney alone! Unfortunately, we have no party to wear it to.
8. I need a vacation, I think.
9. Stupid cold weather and it's stupidness.
10. I've run out of updates.

10. I've run out of updates.
Long time, no see,eh? Let's jump right in.
1. I loved Harry potter. Quite possibly my new favorite of the series. Or, it would be if not for that craptastic epilogue. Still, the rest was fantastic.
2. The OoTP movie, however, sucked. Seriously. I was not happy.
3. New job is going great. Actually love what I'm doing, as opposed to just being there to pay the bills. I even can do Flash now!
4. Yep. Still dating Michael. Seems to be going well, though I admit I wish I knew how he felt. You know, without having to ask, cause I don't want to be one of "those" girlfriends, you know?
5. I am obsessed with Urban Dead. Join!
6. I am now 25, and therefore old. Got lots of good stuff though, so I guess its not all bad.
7. I did move back in with mom. Putting a lot of miles on the old car driving everywher, cause its far from everything, especially Michael and Adam. Its taking a while to adjust. Peter seems better, though we went through a couple weeks where he actually barked a lot. But he's fine now, and he loves running like a loon in the backyard. While he's okay with it all, I feel sometimes like screaming. Never thought a curfew would be "suggested". I feel like I'm in high school again, and that's not a good feeling.
8. I am typing this on my shiny, semi-new BlackBerry Pearl. Its red! Good phone too, once we fixed the battery issues.
9. Dragon*con is this weekend! I'm actually staying with some people at the marriott. Am excited!
The end.

I got a new job! It's a graphic design position at Northridge Interactive, which is a web design company. I'm really excited, cause I'd rather do websites than print. I start the 16th, and it's off Holcomb Bridge and 400, so that cuts my commute in half.
I've decided to move back in with mom for a couple months. I don't want to, but I think it's the best option at this point. My car hit 100,000 miles last night, and it's slowly dying. Plus, the new job only pays once a month, so the first couple months are going to be a little tough while I figure out how to budget differently. Oh well. At least living with mom will be cheap, and enable me to save more money. It comes at a good time, with Peter, since it'll still be warm enough for him to be outside all day most days.
Of course this means that I will be spending a lot of time hanging out with friends instead of staying home. PLEASE.
In other news, I can't WAIT for Harry Potter! *issoexcitedomgwtfbbq*

Would anyone be interested in dressing up in a group costume theme for D*C this year (or know anyone who would)? I think it'd be fun, but need a group.
An idea I can't claim credit for (LeeAnn mentioned it to me years ago, and we were tempted to try it one day, though I think she already had) is that we all make up a story and go as characters in an "obscure anime", and then we try to convince people it's real. We'd have to have character stories or something (everyone could make up their own), and a story for the anime history... it could totally be done.
Anyone interested? It'd pretty much be wear whatever costume you think your character would wear.

I've been sick pretty much all week, so much so that I took three days off and spent all day today sleeping. The puppy has been really good. I've learned that he also sleeps pretty much all day long. I swear, I think he's only awake for about three hours a day.
I did realize something funny, though: Peter likes to sleep underneath his blanket. Seriously, he'll crawl up half under it (or all under it, if he can manage it) and go to sleep. And if you wake him when he's already laying on it and you cover him up, he's perfectly content to just go back to sleep, blanket and all. It cracks me up. Even better is that he thinks you throwing the giant blanket over him while he tries to get out is a game. Poor dog. This has provided much amusement while I've been sick. He's not all that bright, but it's hilarious to watch him stumble around trying to find his way out.
I feel bad because I've been ignoring everyone pretty much all week. I did see Michael Thursday and last night, but I bailed on him tonight in favor of getting some rest, cause I'm still feeling a little out of it. Luckily, though, I get to see him tomorrow. :)
Lastly, is it sad that I still kinda want to see Fantastic Four, despite it's horrible reviews? Has anyone seen it, and can tell me if it's worth a movie ticket, or should I wait until it's at the dollar theater? Maybe for 50-cent Tuesdays?

You ever amuse yourself so much that you can't stop giggling? Witness my brilliant new icon. I'm probably not the first to think of it, but I think I'm hilarious! I think I'm going to do a whole series...
In any case, time for an update!
Things are going decently, though my chest has been bothering me the past few days. I don't know if it's congestion or not, though I have been feeling icky with my sinuses, so I'm probably going to get it checked out if it doesn't go away.
In annoying news, I may have to move back in with mom and Scott. It's a money thing: I either have to move in with them and save lots of money, move into a much cheaper place (and therefore probably not nearly as nice, despite the maintenance issues), or get a new job so I can afford to maintain my lifestyle. Needless to say, option #3 is my favorite, but I don't know how long it would take to actually find a new job, and my lease is up in August.
Life with puppy is getting easier. He's starting to catch on that bite = a swift pinch in the ear for him, and therefore I'm getting fewer scratches and bites. Yay! He keeps stealing my blanket, though, and that's kinda annoying. At least he amuses me by flinging it around the room to get comfortable.
Hee hee, I'm still amused.

Saw Pirates last night. And because I went in there expecting a goofy, cheesy pirate movie, I am happy to report that I enjoyed it quite a bit. It's really hard to follow in spots; unlike the first two, you really have to pay attention. But it's fun, and entertaining, and the whole thing is great to look at. :D
Also, stay until after the credits. Like a moron, I didn't, and apparently I missed something.

Now THAT was a finale. Heroes, take note. That's how you do it.
GAH, this season has been good, but this just reminded my why I'm obsessed with this show in the first place. Okay, it started off a little rocky (first episode, great. Following, eh), but since it's come back from the break, it's been seriously solid. Man ALIVE, I'm so watching this episode again.
In other news, a real-life Snakes on a Plane (attempt)!

I finally got around to making a new layout for my LJ. Okay, not really making a new one. More like just adding my own image header to one of the existing layouts. Eh. I like it. Yay, Peter!
Puppy is doing okay, though he gets carsick and separation anxiety when I'm gone and starts destroying things. I got him a crate, though, which he seems to like. Course, today is the first day he's been in it all day, so we'll see how he is when I get home. Here's hoping he didn't hurt himself or anything.
Still hating on my apartment complex, which "randomly" chose my apartment to do a sprinkler test in it (another reason to get Peter in a crate). What the heck does that mean, a sprinkler test?! I put a big note next to the dog that says "Do NOT let him out", cause I don't trust the maintenance staff not to. Oy. Wish I could have brought him to work instead.
Finally, my car hates me. According to the Dodge dealer, I've probably only got a few more months of driving it before it decides to die completely, so I'm looking at new cars. Unfortunately, this means I may have to move back into my mom's place to save money, if I can't find a new job that pays more before my lease is up. Though I guess I could move back for a month or two, but I really really really really don't want to do so at all. As for cars, though, I'm looking at the Honda Fit.
And can I just say that I'm so excited for the HP movie? Yay!

Alrighty, here there be pictures. Yes, I'll be obsessed for a while, so expect a lot of images in the next few entries. I'm hoping to get some halfway decent ones of him NOT SLEEPING, but as that's what he does the most, I'm thinking it might never happen. In any case, puppy!
As I said, his name is Peter Parker. He definitely is a spitz-type mix with his beagle, and instead of Malamute, I'm suspecting Shiba Inu.

( cut for images )

So I did get a puppy. His name is Peter Parker, he's 8 months old, and he's a really cute beagle mix. We think he's part Malamute. In any case, very cute (though annoying destructive when I'm gone), and more about him tomorrow when I can get pictures up.
Speaking of Peter Parker, I saw Spider-man last night. I've always loved midnight shows; they've got such a *fun* energy. I mean, it's nice to see a film without other people talking, but you know the midnight show people are actually fans, and it doesn't bother you if someone yells something at one of the characters. But as for the movie itself, here's how I felt...

- Mood:
sleepy and annoyed about it.
It's like a nightmare. It's the most horrible thing I've ever realized... I like the new Carrie Underwood song. NOOOO! I can't like country! It goes against everything I stand for (that being NOT CRAP)! And yet, I'm hovering my mouse over the Buy Song button on iTunes, debating on if I should buy it or not. Someone please reassure me that it's not really country if she won American Idol. Right?
*SHAME*
So yes, I've been really lax in updating the past couple months. Therefore, a couple of updates:
- Michael and I are still dating (almost 7 months now, making it the longest relationship I've ever been in. Weird.), though he hasn't yet met the 'rents.
- Speaking of them, the divorce went through and is all official. They keep apologizing and everyone is saying I should feel horrible, but I honestly don't think about it. I wonder what that means?
- We had a lovely little funeral for CK, and he's buried over in Smyrna. It's weird; most of the time I'm perfectly fine, but every now and then I'm super sad with missing him. I know it'll stop hurting so much, but *sigh*.
- Taxes are evil. As is being a contract worker. Which, in my limited experience, is more evil than the taxes themselves. I'd rather them take money out as I'm paid and maybe get a little refund at the end of the year than have to pay thousands of dollars. It really sucks.
- Finally, I hate my apartment. Seriously. Hate.
- Finally, Part II, I am *obsessed* with House, MD. Like, crazy obsessed. And really annoyed iTunes doesn't carry the episodes.
